HOW SOLAR WORKS EXPLAINED

How solar works explained | Kratos Energy
  1. Solar panels convert photons from the sun into DC voltage electricity

  2. Inverter converts DC voltage into AC which can be used in your home
  3. Meter monitors how much electricity is being produced, how much is being used, how much is coming from the grid, how much is being sent back to the grid.
  4. AC voltage from Solar array (or from the grid if required) being supplied to your home.
  5. Excess Solar production feed back to the grid.

PANELS ALL NORTH FACING vs EAST AND WEST COMBINATION

Fact: North facing panels (in the Southern hemisphere) will provide maximum output during peak production times, typically around midday.

Fact: The shape, size and orientation of your roof is usually the deciding factor on where we can place panels, meaning more times than not

we don't have a choice so will place panels to provide the the highest output your roof will allow.

If the choice is available to us we will place panels in the best orientation to suit the lifestyle of those living in the residence.Typically where Mum and Dad go to work and the kids go to school (no one at home during the day), a combination of East + West facing panels would typically provide better return.

On the other hand If someone is at home all day most days then North facing would typically provide the better return. It all depends on when your peak electricity demands are. Refer to the chart below for visual representation.
