Grid connection

What you can export in Spring Farm

Your distribution network — not your retailer — decides how much solar your Spring Farm home may send back to the grid. A car in the garage changes how much that matters: the more you charge from your own roof, the less of your generation is looking for somewhere to go.

10kW per phase

Flexible exports: eligible customers can export up to 10kW per phase most of the time, with the inverter adjusting automatically when the local network needs it to.

1.5kW

The fixed alternative: choosing a fixed export limit instead caps exports at 1.5kW.

From November 2026

Flexible exports become the default connection option for eligible new and upgraded solar systems.

A charger is a load, not a generator

Export limits govern what your system sends out. An EV charger does the opposite — it takes power in — so it does not come out of that allowance, and adding one never costs you export headroom. What it does need is capacity on your switchboard and, for the larger three-phase units, its own conversation with the network. We size the circuit and check the board at the assessment, so the charger is not a surprise on install day.

Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.

Batteries

Adding a battery in Spring Farm

Home batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s PDRS battery incentive + VPP bonus can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.

≈ $3,402

Estimated federal rebate on 13.5 kWh of usable storage

+ NSW

Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS) battery incentive + VPP connection bonus.

Planning an EV?

Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.

From quote to switch-on

How a Spring Farm install works

  1. Step 1

    Free assessment

We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill — and ask whether there is an EV now or coming, because it changes the size we recommend more than anything else on the list.

  2. Step 2

    Written quote

A quote with the panel layout, inverter and every extra itemised — including the charger and its cable run, if you want one now.

  3. Step 3

    Network approval

We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm any export limit before install day.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

CEC-accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. A charger is wired at the same time if it is in the job, which saves a second visit.

  5. Step 5

    Switch-on

Your retailer updates the meter and we set up monitoring so you can see what the car is actually costing you to run.

What our customers say

“I'd like to thank Nessar and my neighbour Hasan for doing a wonderful job organising the installation of solar panels on my house. Wei and his team worked incredibly hard, especially since my home is double-storey, making the installation quite challenging. They spent the entire day ensuring everything was completed correctly. I'm very happy with the service.”
