Solar panels in Rouse Hill

Solar, batteries and EV chargers for Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, North Kellyville and Beaumont Hills — the whole 2155 postcode. Most houses here are new enough to have the roof, the three-phase supply and the budget for either option, which is why the question we get asked most in Rouse Hill is whether to spend the money on a battery or on more panels. This page answers it with arithmetic rather than enthusiasm.

  • 6.6kW systems estimated from about $3,990 after the STC discount
  • The extra 3.4kW between packages costs about $1,500
  • Panels-only price shown beside any battery price, so you can compare

Battery or more panels

Where the next thousand dollars actually goes furthest

Both options are sold hard and the comparison is almost never put in front of you. It is not complicated. Panels are cheap per kilowatt-hour and have no opinion about when you need the power; a battery is expensive per kilowatt-hour and exists entirely to fix the timing. Which one wins depends on how much roof you have left, and almost nothing else.

$1,500 for 3.4kW

That is the gap between our 6.6kW and 10kW packages, and it is small because the scaffold, the labour, the inverter work and the paperwork are already paid for in the first number. The extra capacity makes roughly 5,088 kWh a year — about $254 of value if all of it is exported, nearer $708 if a third is used in the house.

27c a kilowatt-hour

That is all a battery ever earns: the 32c you do not pay, less the 5c you gave up by not exporting. It is a genuine saving and it is bounded — a battery cannot earn on energy that was never generated, and it cannot earn twice on the same kilowatt-hour.

$6,565 after rebates

The 15kWh Sungrow option from our own price list. Cycled fully every day of the year it returns about $1,478; allowing honestly for winter, cloudy weeks and days nobody is home, closer to $1,035. Worth doing — after the roof is full, not instead of filling it.

Fill the roof, then measure, then buy storage

The order is the whole advice. Panels added while the installer is already on your roof are the cheapest kilowatt-hours you will ever buy, and they also generate the one thing that sizes a battery properly: six months of monitoring showing what you actually export on an ordinary day. Buy storage before you have that and you are sizing from a brochure. Three things reverse the order and they are worth checking first — a roof that is genuinely full, a low fixed export limit that makes extra generation worth little, or wanting backup through an outage, which is not a financial question at all and which no quantity of panels will ever provide. Everything above is modelling on our published figures, not a quote; your bill has your real tariffs on it and we will use those.

Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.

If a virtual power plant is part of the pitch

A battery quote in this area often arrives with a VPP bonus attached, and that changes the arithmetic above in ways worth understanding before you sign rather than after. The bonus is usually paid once while the commitment runs for years, the operator decides when your battery discharges during an event, and the reserve left for the house is the clause to read if backup was part of your reason for buying. Our West Pennant Hills page goes through the terms properly.

Adding a battery in Rouse Hill

Home batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s NSW VPP connection incentive (battery via federal program) can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.

+ NSW

NSW virtual power plant (VPP) incentive when you connect an eligible battery to a VPP, on top of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. The NSW upfront battery discount ended for installs from 1 July 2025.

Planning an EV?

Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.

From quote to switch-on

How a Rouse Hill install works

  1. Step 1

    Free assessment

We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill, and work out how much roof you actually have — because that caps the cheapest option before anything else is discussed.

  2. Step 2

    Written quote

A quote naming the panel and inverter models, the system size, the total price and what is excluded. If a battery is in it, the panels-only price is in it too, so you can see what each part costs.

  3. Step 3

    Network approval

We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm your export limit before install day — which matters here, because an export limit is one of the few things that genuinely changes this decision.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

Accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. You are told who is coming.

  5. Step 5

    Switch-on

Your retailer updates the meter, we set up monitoring, and you get the compliance paperwork. Six months of that monitoring is the best information you will ever have for a battery decision.

What our customers say

“I'd like to thank Nessar and my neighbour Hasan for doing a wonderful job organising the installation of solar panels on my house. Wei and his team worked incredibly hard, especially since my home is double-storey, making the installation quite challenging. They spent the entire day ensuring everything was completed correctly. I'm very happy with the service.”
