Warranties

What a 25-year system means in St Clair

Three different warranties come with a solar system, they cover three different things, and a quote that rolls them into a single headline number is telling you less than it appears to. Here is what each one actually promises.

Product

Covers the panel or inverter itself failing. Typically 12 to 25 years on panels and 5 to 10 on inverters, depending on the brand and model — which is why our quotes name them.

Performance

A promise about output, not about replacement: that the panel still produces a stated percentage of its rating after 25 years. It does not mean a slightly underperforming panel gets swapped.

Workmanship

Covers our installation — mounting, flashing, wiring. The one that is only as good as the installer still being in business, which is worth weighing when a quote is unusually cheap.

The roof is the fourth warranty nobody mentions

None of the three above covers the thing underneath them. If a 40-year-old roof needs replacing part-way through the system's life, the panels have to come off and go back on, and that cost lands on you. It is why we walk the roof before quoting and why we will tell you to fix it first if it needs fixing. A job delayed is better than a job we both regret.

Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.

Tile roofs across the 2759 postcode

Concrete tile is the standard roof on both sides of this postcode, and working on it properly means lifting and flashing rather than drilling through, carrying replacements, and accepting that some breakage is normal on any tile job. Our Erskine Park page sets out how we handle that, and covers commercial systems for the warehouses in the estates south of the houses.

Batteries

Adding a battery in St Clair

Home batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s PDRS battery incentive + VPP bonus can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.

Planning an EV?

Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.

From quote to switch-on

How a St Clair install works

  1. Step 1

    Free assessment

We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill — and we walk the roof properly, because on a house this age its condition is a real question rather than a formality.

  2. Step 2

    Written quote

A quote naming the actual panel and inverter models, with each warranty stated separately rather than rolled into one number.

  3. Step 3

    Network approval

We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm any export limit before install day.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

CEC-accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. Tiles are lifted and flashed rather than drilled, and any we break are replaced.

  5. Step 5

    Switch-on

Your retailer updates the meter and we set up monitoring, so a fault shows up as a number rather than as a surprise on a bill.
