Solar, batteries and EV chargers for Robertson, Burrawang, Wildes Meadow, Fitzroy Falls, Kangaroo Valley, Barrengarry, Knights Hill and Mount Murray — the whole 2577 postcode. On blocks up here the question is often not which system but whether to stay connected at all. It is a fair question, it has a real answer, and the answer turns on one thing: an off-grid system is not sized for your average week, it is sized for your worst one.
These are estimates, not fixed prices. Each one assumes a straightforward installation and already has the federal STC discount for postcode 2577 taken off. What your home actually costs depends on your roof, switchboard and connection — we confirm it in writing after a free assessment.

Anything that applies to your home is itemised in your written quote before you commit to it.
Estimates only, including GST, checked October 2026. STC figures use postcode 2577, 2026 deeming and an assumed $38 per certificate — the discount you receive depends on the certificate market on your installation date. Savings are modelled on typical usage and tariffs and are not a guarantee.
The pitch for independence usually skips the one fact that governs the whole thing. A grid-connected system can be sized for an average, because the grid covers every gap without being asked. Take the grid away and the system has to carry your worst week on its own — and on this part of the escarpment a run of wet, foggy days is an ordinary feature of the year rather than a tail risk.
That is the whole difference, and it is what multiplies the cost. Generation well beyond your consumption, storage measured in days rather than hours, and no grid behind it to quietly make up the shortfall on the days the design did not anticipate.
Essentially every practical off-grid installation has one, for the stretch that neither generation nor storage covers. An honest off-grid proposal includes it and prices it. One that does not has either not been designed properly or is not telling you something.
Grid-connected solar with a battery and backup circuits. The grid covers the worst week, the battery covers the evening and the outage, nothing is oversized and there is no generator. It costs a fraction of an off-grid design and gives most people the thing they were actually picturing.
When the alternative is a new connection that costs a fortune. If a block is a long way from the nearest line, the quoted price to bring power in can run to tens of thousands — and an off-grid system is then being compared against that figure rather than against a normal electricity bill. It can win outright, sometimes comfortably, and that is a real and reasonably common situation on land out this way. Disconnecting a property that already has a working supply is a different proposition with much worse arithmetic, and we will tell you so rather than quote it. One thing to be clear about either way: a standard grid-connected system shuts down in an outage, and a battery does not change that on its own — backup needs the right inverter and a changeover arrangement serving chosen circuits, typically lights, the fridge, a few power points and perhaps a pump rather than the whole house. If outages matter to you, say so at the assessment, because it changes the hardware rather than the price.
Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.
The single most surprising thing about owning grid-connected solar is discovering during a blackout that a roof full of panels in bright sunshine gives you nothing. There is a good reason for it — it protects the people working on the lines — and there is a specific thing that changes it. Our Glenmore Park page explains anti-islanding properly, and sets out what a battery with backup switchgear can realistically hold up.
Backup power, and what it actually coversHome batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s NSW VPP connection incentive (battery via federal program) can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.
Estimated federal rebate on 13.5 kWh of usable storage
NSW virtual power plant (VPP) incentive when you connect an eligible battery to a VPP, on top of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. The NSW upfront battery discount ended for installs from 1 July 2025.
Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.
We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill — and if going off-grid is on your mind, we start with what your worst week looks like rather than your average one.
A quote naming the panel and inverter models, the system size, the total price and what is excluded. Where backup circuits are part of it, we state which circuits, because that is the detail that decides whether it does what you imagined.
We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm any export limit before install day.
Accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. You are told who is coming and when the power will be off.
Your retailer updates the meter, we set up monitoring, and you get the compliance paperwork. If you have backup, we test it with you rather than describing it — you should see the lights stay on once, deliberately.

Smarter Home Energy with Solar & Battery Storage Kratos Energy has successfully completed another residential solar and battery installation in Endeavour Hills, Victoria, combining a 10.45 kW Jinko solar system with 32 kWh of GoodWe battery storage. Designed to help the household generate more of its own electricity, store excess solar energy and reduce dependence on the grid, this system provides a strong foundation for smarter and more flexible home energy management. Project Overview Location: Endeavour Hills, Victoria Solar System Size: 10.45 kW Solar Panels: Jinko Solar Battery Storage: 32 kWh Battery Brand: GoodWe Project Type: Residential Solar + Battery Installation Status: Completed The Solution The property was equipped with a high-capacity rooftop solar system using Jinko solar panels, strategically installed to make effective use of the available roof space. The 10.45 kW solar array works alongside a substantial 32 kWh GoodWe battery system, allowing solar energy generated during the day to be stored for use when required. Rather than relying solely on electricity from the grid after sunset, the household can make greater use of energy generated from its own rooftop solar system. Why Solar + Battery? Combining solar generation with battery storage gives homeowners greater control over how and when they use electricity. This installation is designed to help the household: Increase the use of self-generated solar energy Store excess daytime solar production for later use Reduce reliance on grid electricity Make better use of solar energy during evenings and high-demand periods Gain greater control over household energy consumption Build a more energy-resilient home Reduce exposure to rising electricity costs over the long term Built for Long-Term Energy Independence With 10.45 kW of solar generation capacity and 32 kWh of battery storage, this Endeavour Hills installation represents a significant step towards greater household energy independence. The combination of Jinko solar technology and GoodWe energy storage provides the homeowner with a modern energy solution designed around both current electricity requirements and future energy needs. From system planning through to installation, the Kratos Energy team focused on delivering a clean, practical and professionally installed solution suited to the property.
