Solar, batteries and EV chargers for Casula, Liverpool, Moorebank, Chipping Norton, Lurnea, Prestons, Hammondville, Warwick Farm and Mount Pritchard — the whole 2170 postcode. The panels go up in a day. What decides when you start being paid for what you export is a meter, and that part belongs to your retailer rather than to us. This page is the sequence, the timeframe and the two things to check on your first bill.
These are estimates, not fixed prices. Each one assumes a straightforward installation and already has the federal STC discount for postcode 2170 taken off. What your home actually costs depends on your roof, switchboard and connection — we confirm it in writing after a free assessment.

Anything that applies to your home is itemised in your written quote before you commit to it.
Estimates only, including GST, checked October 2026. STC figures use postcode 2170, 2026 deeming and an assumed $38 per certificate — the discount you receive depends on the certificate market on your installation date. Savings are modelled on typical usage and tariffs and are not a guarantee.
The most common complaint in the month after an install has nothing wrong with the system behind it. The panels work from the moment they are commissioned, and every kilowatt-hour the house uses is already saving money. What has not started is the crediting of what goes out — and that waits on a meter nobody mentioned during the sale.
We commission the system, lodge the grid-connection application and send the compliance paperwork through. From there your retailer appoints whoever installs or reconfigures the meter. We cannot do that part, and neither can the network directly — it is a handover between two businesses, which is precisely why it is the step that gets dropped.
An existing smart meter usually needs only a reconfiguration, often done remotely. An older basic meter cannot separate imported from exported energy at all and has to be physically swapped. We will tell you which one you are facing at quote stage rather than on the day.
Where you and your retailer cannot agree a date, the replacement is required within 20 business days — and your feed-in applies from the date that work completes, not from the day the panels went up. If you are past that with nothing to show, the Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW is free and handles exactly this.
First: is there a solar export line, with a number of kilowatt-hours beside it? If there is not, the meter has not been configured and that is a call to your retailer, not to your installer. Second: did your tariff change? A new smart meter can be the moment a retailer proposes moving you to time-of-use pricing, which changes the arithmetic of everything above. For a meter installed from 1 December 2025 a retailer cannot change your tariff structure without your consent for two years; one installed before that date does not carry the same protection. You are not obliged to be on time-of-use and flat-rate plans still exist — but it is a decision, and the time to make it is before you agree rather than after a quarter of bills. One last thing: if you are going to change retailers, do it before the install, because switching mid-configuration restarts the paperwork.
Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.
Getting the meter sorted is what puts the number on the bill. It is worth knowing in advance how small that number is compared with the one next to it — a kilowatt-hour you use in the house is worth several times one you export, which is the single most useful thing to understand about owning solar. Our Bangor page works it through with the figures our own calculators use, and explains why chasing the highest advertised feed-in rate is usually the wrong move.
What a kilowatt-hour is actually worthHome batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s NSW VPP connection incentive (battery via federal program) can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.
Estimated federal rebate on 13.5 kWh of usable storage
NSW virtual power plant (VPP) incentive when you connect an eligible battery to a VPP, on top of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. The NSW upfront battery discount ended for installs from 1 July 2025.
Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.
We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill. The bill matters as much as the roof here — it tells us what meter you have and what tariff you are on.
A quote naming the panel and inverter models, the system size, the total price and what is excluded. We will also tell you at this point whether your meter will need replacing or only reconfiguring.
We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm any export limit before install day.
Accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. The system generates from the moment it is switched on, whatever your meter is doing.
We send the compliance paperwork to your retailer and set up monitoring. Your retailer then arranges the meter work, and your exports start being credited from the date that is finished — we will tell you what to expect rather than letting you discover it on a bill.

Smarter Home Energy with Solar & Battery Storage Kratos Energy has successfully completed another residential solar and battery installation in Endeavour Hills, Victoria, combining a 10.45 kW Jinko solar system with 32 kWh of GoodWe battery storage. Designed to help the household generate more of its own electricity, store excess solar energy and reduce dependence on the grid, this system provides a strong foundation for smarter and more flexible home energy management. Project Overview Location: Endeavour Hills, Victoria Solar System Size: 10.45 kW Solar Panels: Jinko Solar Battery Storage: 32 kWh Battery Brand: GoodWe Project Type: Residential Solar + Battery Installation Status: Completed The Solution The property was equipped with a high-capacity rooftop solar system using Jinko solar panels, strategically installed to make effective use of the available roof space.
