Solar panels in Liverpool

Solar, batteries and EV chargers for Liverpool, Casula, Moorebank, Chipping Norton, Warwick Farm, Lurnea, Prestons, Hammondville and Mount Pritchard — the whole 2170 postcode. Liverpool has had rooftop solar for longer than most of South West Sydney, which means a lot of systems here were sold by companies that no longer exist. If that is you, the useful question is not who to be angry with. It is which of your three warranties you still have.

  • 6.6kW systems estimated from about $3,990 after the STC discount
  • Existing systems tested and reported on, including ones we did not install
  • Repair price and replacement price, side by side, before you decide

When the installer is gone

What survives when the company that sold you the system does not

Solar companies close more often than the industry likes to say, and Liverpool has enough early installs that plenty of people here are living with the result. The common advice is to shrug and buy a new system. That is not what the situation is. You lost one of three warranties, and the other two are still yours to use.

The equipment warranties survive

Panel and inverter product warranties, and the panel performance warranty, are between you and the manufacturer or its Australian importer. They do not depend on the installer still trading, and you can claim them yourself with proof of purchase and a model number.

The workmanship warranty does not

That one covered the labour, the roof penetrations and the wiring, and it was a promise from a specific business. Nothing automatically transfers it, and nobody is obliged to pick it up. Anyone who offers to should be asked exactly what they mean.

Any accredited installer can work on it

Including manufacturer-authorised warranty repairs. A compliant system does not become untouchable because the company that installed it has gone — it just no longer has anyone whose job it is to care.

The paperwork is the asset

Before you ring anybody, find the original invoice, the panel and inverter make, model and count, and the compliance certificate. A manufacturer claim is built on proof of purchase and a model number, and once the business is deregistered you are the only person who still has either. Two honest limits on all of this. Consumer guarantees run against the business that took your money, which is precisely why a deregistered supplier is a practical dead end and why the equipment route is the one worth taking. And if the manufacturer has no Australian entity and no importer still standing, the real answer is that you have a repair to pay for rather than a claim to make — we will tell you that plainly instead of quoting a whole new system first. If the fault is in the installation rather than the equipment, that is a matter for fair trading or the energy ombudsman, not for us.

Network rules change and every connection is approved on its own merits — we confirm the limit that applies to your address in writing before install day.

The version of this that is avoidable

Almost every orphaned system in Liverpool was sold by a business that looked fine at the time. The checks that would have changed the outcome are not complicated — who actually employs the person on your roof, whether the quote names the equipment, how large a deposit is being asked for, and whether the company selling, installing and financing the job are the same company. Our Wentworthville page sets them out as the checklist we would want a relative to use, including on us.

Batteries

Adding a battery in Liverpool

Home batteries attract two separate incentives. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program takes an estimated $3,402 off a 13.5 kWh battery, and NSW’s NSW VPP connection incentive (battery via federal program) can add more on top. Already have solar? We check your inverter first — some systems take a battery as they are, others need a hybrid inverter.

≈ $3,402

Estimated federal rebate on 13.5 kWh of usable storage

+ NSW

NSW virtual power plant (VPP) incentive when you connect an eligible battery to a VPP, on top of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. The NSW upfront battery discount ended for installs from 1 July 2025.

Planning an EV?

Size your solar for it now. Our 10kW package comes pre-wired for a battery and an EV charger, so adding one later is a small job rather than a rebuild.

From quote to switch-on

How a Liverpool install works

  1. Step 1

    Free assessment

We review your roof, shading, switchboard and a recent bill. If there is already a system up there, we look at that too and tell you whether it is worth keeping.

  2. Step 2

    Written quote

A quote naming the panel and inverter models, the system size, the total price and what is excluded — and, on a replacement, what we are reusing and what is going in the bin.

  3. Step 3

    Network approval

We lodge your grid-connection application and confirm any export limit before install day. Replacing an inverter on an existing system is an alteration to the connection, so it is checked here rather than assumed.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

Accredited electricians install, test and commission the system, then clean up. You are told who is coming.

  5. Step 5

    Switch-on and handover

Your retailer updates the meter, we set up monitoring, and you get the paperwork — invoice, equipment models and compliance certificate. Keep it somewhere you will find it in ten years, because one day it is the only proof that exists.
